Ethanolamines are a family of chemicals that work as surfactants and emulsifying ingredients in personal care and cleaning products. Used to adjust pH, but they can create harmful by-products and irritate skin. Too many question marks for us.

Preservatives that slowly release formaldehyde. We’re not into hidden nasties — especially ones linked to skin reactions and health concerns.

Glyoxylic acid is a smoothing and straightening agent used in hair care to reduce frizz and enhance manageability. However, since it has recently been flagged by French authorities, we believe it's not worth the risk.

A type of alcohol that’s highly drying and can be toxic if absorbed in large amounts. Not welcome in a care formula.

Tiny invisible and persistent plastic particles that pollute oceans and harm marine life. Totally unnecessary — and banned in many countries. We only exfoliate naturally. So, we keep them out completely — for your skin and the planet.

pores and doesn’t add value to clean, breathable formulas. We go for plant-based oils instead.

Synthetic fragrance compounds that build up in the body and the environment. Not transparent, not clean, and definitely not needed.

A UV filter linked to hormonal disruption and coral reef damage. If it’s not safe for marine life, it’s not in our bottles.

Another UV filter flagged for hormone disruption and environmental harm. We believe in safe sun care — and this doesn’t make the cut.

A form of vitamin A. When exposed to UV light, retinol compounds break down and produce toxic free radicals that can damage DNA and cause gene mutations, a precursor to cancer. There are safer ways to nourish your skin.

They coat hair to make it feel smooth — but they don’t actually nourish it, and they’re not biodegradable. We prefer real results, not just surface-level shine.

Foaming agents that can strip natural oils and irritate the scalp. We keep the clean feeling, not the harsh side effects.

Synthetic fragrance compounds that stick around — in your body and the environment. Not biodegradable, not necessary, not in our formulas.
